About Starflower Massage

Picture

Hello, I'm Sarah Holloway. I studied Classical Massage and Aromatherapy at The College of Classical Massage, Brighton in 2001 and Hot Stones Fusion Massage at Jing Advanced Massage & Training in 2004; and have since founded Starflower Massage. The name is taken from the Borage plant; a bright blue star shaped flower and a healing herb. It represents many relevant qualities for massage, including help with reducing anxiety, stress and hormonal tension. It used to be known as 'the herb of gladness' and is loved by bees.
I am an experienced practitioner of the wonderful healing art of massage and work with a diversity of people. I am passionate about holistic health and healing and believe that although prevention is better than cure, massage can also be very beneficial as a complementary therapy to help with a wide range of issues.

''The root of all health is in the brain.
The trunk of it is in emotion.
The branches and leaves are the body.
The flower of health blooms
when all parts work together''
- Kurdish folk wisdom

I really enjoy being able to give Home Visit Holistic Massage treatments to women, including those that are in rural environments.

There are a wide range of situations in which people may want to take advantage of receiving therapeutic massage, including treatments at festivals, including the Healing Field at Glastonbury Festival, where I have given massage on many occasions.

I have regularly given massage at the Brighton Cancer Support Group and the Sussex MS Centre; two very valuable sources of support. Additionally I have treated adults with learning and physical disabilites as a visiting Massage Therapist in Residential Care Homes.

I am also a practising artist and qualified Art teacher, as well as a member of Brighton Permaculture Trust.
I live in the countryside near Lewes, with my husband who is a Renewable Energy Specialist. My ethos is to live as holistically and sustainably as possible in all areas of my life.

I thoroughly enjoy being able to help and support people through healing touch, for enhanced well being or a more therapeutic approach. It fills me with great inspiration to witness how supportive massage can be towards health and vitality.

Starflower Massage is the sister of Starflower Arts.
